I have always felt a connection with ancient Americas’ belief systems: walking through wooded Michigan, silently canoeing down a river, feeling the buoyancy of the ocean for the first time.

This series begins with a childhood fascination for the natural world. As an adult, earth-based mythology has fascinated me. These legends suggest meanings of things big and small.

My marks seek to echo the universal connectedness I sense with nature. This union serves as a point of entry into art making. These works resonate with my exploration and imagination, my wanderings and wonderings.
